Rose-of-Sharon

Rose-of-Sharon,
hibiscus' mild cousin whose
pale six-petaled trumpets
wrap pink
around a blood-red heart,
urging hummingbirds

to nod upon sweet morning nectar,
partakers of your one-day glory
who chime silent
bells.
